Goodna’s Mujawar family is still battling to bring life back to normal after half their house was flooded in January.

They still don't have a kitchen and they are still waiting to hear from their insurers.

So while they pick up the pieces, Quest Community Newspapers is hoping to make their world just that little bit brighter by offering to take a family portrait free of charge.

It's our way of helping the Mujawars, and many families like them, who have lost precious photos in the wake of one of south-east Queensland's worst natural disasters.

Our photographers will be at two locations, Queen's Park in Ipswich and the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha on Sunday, May 22, as part of our Operation Fresh Page.

We will provide one 10x8 inch print per family, along with a disc of the digital images taken on the day.

Online registration to take advantage of the offer is essential.

Shirin Mujawar said her family has had to rely on friends for accommodation after the home she has shared for two years with husband Tanvez and young daughter Taisha was badly damaged in the January floods.

``We don’t have family members here so for two months we were staying with friends.''

``It was not a nice time for Taisha because she didn’t know what was going on.’‘

To register for a family portrait sitting, fill out the Operation Fresh Page form by 5pm on Wednesday, May 11. Nominate your preferred location, and following registration you will be allocated a sitting time and sent relevant information.
