Niall Kumar will travel to Los Angeles in December
NIALL Kumar will be living every performer’s dream when he heads over to Los Angeles in December to sing and dance his days away in Disneyland and along Hollywood Boulevard as part of Glee Club Australia.
Mr Kumar, 19, of West Pennant Hills, landed this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when he successfully auditioned at the Australian Institute of Performing Arts in August to be a part of the Australian version of Glee Club and tour in the USA.
“I am pretty excited about this opportunity,” he said.
“Not only will I get to perform on Hollywood Boulevard and at Disneyland, I will also be a part of casting sessions and workshops with Hollywood directors from Glee. “We will even get to record in a LA recording studio on a song written especially for us by the musical director of Glee.”
He said two documentaries were being made about the tour and he believes at least one will be sold to an Australian television network.
The Macquarie University creative arts and music student said it had taken him five years to build up his confidence and energy for performance.
“I originally got into university to do a commerce degree,” he said.
“But once I got involved in the university’s musical society that was when I realised I wanted to become a professional performer.”
