Boy, 2, drowns in Georges River


A BOY, 2, drowned in the Georges River at Revesby yesterday.

About 4.15pm on Sunday, police and ambulance officers were called to a reported drowning at Revesby. When they arrived they found a boy, 2, unconscious and not breathing. The toddler was taken by ambulance under police escort to St George Hospital but was unable to be revived.

Local detectives are conducting inquiries at the scene, including speaking with several witnesses, to establish the circumstances surrounding the boy's death.

A report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner.
