STAFF at local Blacktown watering hole Adam’s Tavern have pledged to donate all their tips for the month of January to the Queensland flood appeal.
Owner of the Blacktown tavern Bobby McGee has taken the generosity one step further by agreeing to match the amount raised.
``It’s the right thing to do and people are already throwing in $10 and $20 notes,’’ he said.
Staff member Rebecca Jackson said she was blown away by the generosity of the patrons.
``They’re all locals and we’ve raised $600 in four days already,’’ she said.
``We would never make anything like that in tips normally, the patrons have been very generous.’‘
Ms Jackson said the goal was to raise about $2000 for the cause.
Local resident and patron Nathan Halasz said he was happy to donate to the appeal.
``I’m still upset about the State of Origin, but there’s people in need up there,’’ he said.
The tavern employees 15 staff all who have pledged their tips to the cause.
