A man will appear in court today charged with a raft of offences including assault, carrying a knife in a public place and malicious damage after an incident near Ashfield yesterday.

About 5.30pm on Thursday 16 December a 19-year-old man was inside a home in Grove Street at Earlwood when he was disturbed by a noise outside.

The 31-year-old then left the premises and police were called. He was located in the yard of a nearby house where he was arrested.
