GETTING in shape for summer has never meant so much.

This Sunday people can ride 10 or 22km, walk 6km or run 10km and not only will they be getting fit, but they’ll be raising money for scholarships for needy western suburbs youth.

Proceeds from Pedals on the Path - organised by a committee from Hobsons Bay Churches - will go to Western Chances.

Rides are towards the Timeball Tower in Williamstown and return, and the walk and run are towards the `Hundred Steps’ and return.

A barbecue, coffee, tea, muffins, biscuits, and cool drinks are available for purchase from noon at Cresser Reserve, Seaholme and the events start at 1:15pm. Participants are encouraged to obtain sponsorship for the cause.

Register and pay now online at pedalsonthepath.com and set-up an Online Sponsorship page an easy and fun way to get sponsors. More information and brochures are available on the website.

Registration fees are $30 per family, $15 per adult, and $10 per child.

Live music, a PiQata and Presentations with Western Chances personnel will take place at 2.30pm. Prizes will be awarded in various categories for those raising the most money for Western Chances.
