CONDELL Park’s Lorraine Landon will receive an Order of Australia Medal for her service to Australia’s basketball industry.

Her contribution to the following clubs and events has earned her the prestigious award:

* General Manager of Basketball Australia’s National Teams and Competitions since 2001. She is a life member as well.

* Chair of the International Basketball Federation Women’s Commission since 2002 and from 1984 to1986.

* Director of Basketball NSW from 1998 to 2003. She is also a life member of the club.

* Director of Women’s National Basketball League from 1996 to 2001. She is also a life member of the club.

* President of the Australian Women’s Basketball Committee from 1982 to1996.

* Manager of the Australian Basketball Team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games and 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

* Manager of the Australian Women’s Team at the World Basketball Championships in Malaysia in 1986.

* Director of the State Sports Centre Trust from 1994 to 2009.

* Member of the NSW Sports Advisory Committee from 1994 to 2008.

* Director of the Western Sydney Sports Academy since 2005.

* General Manager of the Sydney Kings and Sydney Flames basketball teams from 1989 to 1997.

* Chief executive officer of the Bankstown Basketball Association from 1976 to 1988. She is also a life member of the club.

* Manager of Wheelchair Basketball and Intellectual Disability Basketball since 2003.

* Member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Sport and Recreation for People with a Disability (NSW). She was recently appointed.
