SEEING the crowds down at the Redcliffe Surf Life Saving Club on the weekend, you would be forgiven for thinking it was a typical summer day.
The Suttons Beach club was abuzz with activity on the annual open day as existing members refreshed their skills and the public had the opportunity to look around the clubhouse and watch patrol demonstrations.
A sign-on event was also held down at the Redcliffe pool, with 90 new members signing up.
``It was a very successful day,’’ club administrator Edith Bailey said.
Two more sign on days will be held on September 4 and September 12 with pool proficiencies conducted.
The first patrol of the season will be on September 18 with nippers returning on September 19.
