Raiders re-sign Thurling

The Canberra Raiders have re-signed forward Trevor Thurling for the next three seasons.

Thurling will announce his new deal at a press conference this afternoon.

The 26-year-old turned down an offer from the Newcastle Knights after the Raiders added a third year to their original two-year deal to keep Thurling in the capital.

He has been one of the Raiders most consistent performers this season.

A Queanbeyan junior, Thurling joined the Raiders in 2005 after making his NRL debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs the previous year.

Thurling will start at lock in the Canberra's round 15 match against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.
