Knife attack in Curtin

Two men armed with large kitchen knives have robbed a young couple walking home in Curtin.

The 29-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were forced on their knees during the terrifying attack.

The pair was walking along Leake Place at about 3.30am yesterday when they were confronted.

A car driving along the street without headlights on passed the couple shortly before two young men approached them armed with large knives.

The attackers threatened the couple and forced them on their knees, with their hands behind their heads.

The armed robbers took the pairs mobile phones and wallets.

They were last seen running to McCormack Street. Police said the car earlier seen driving past the couple was seen a short time later being driven erratically.

The offenders were described as Caucasian, aged in their late teens or early twenties, about 185cm-tall with muscular builds and short hair.

One of them was wearing a grey hooded jumper and the other a dark hooded jumper.

The vehicle is believed to be a small two-door hatchback, possibly grey or beige in colour.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website.
