NEW PLAN: Locals are being urged to have their say on the future of the Hills District.
THE future of the Hills District will take shape during Moreton Bay Regional Council’s community planning process later this year.
Division 10 councillor Brian Battersby said the plan being considered would allow residents to contribute to the future of their neighbourhood.
``I’m keen to see that the Moreton Bay region’s community plan truly reflects the values and aspirations of dynamic local communities such as the Hills District,’’ Cr Battersby said.
``And the best way to achieve that is to give residents of all ages a say on what they want in their own backyard.’’
He said the plan would focus on population growth, employment, infrastructure and council services.
``I envisage the community plan becoming the catalyst for better-targeted services and potentially a fairer share of state and federal government spending for the projects that really matter to the Hills District.’’
Consultation on the community plan is expected to begin by the end of this year and finish before the end of next year.
